I worked as a Psychiatric Nurse in Gateshead and Newcastle when Mary Bell was on trial. I followed Gitta Serenys two books on M ary Bell, When she was released from prison , I returned from Australia my home now , on a trip to visit family. I loaned her book of Mary Bell to some one and it was never returned, so i am purchasing another book from Amazon, I am grateful Amazon still stocks these two books. Mary is quite often in my thoughts, and I hope she goes well now .If anyone deserves another chance with life Mary does. After working in the community where she lived, the book tells a true story of the people and the environment.I have just retired as a Forensic Psychiatric nurse after working in this area since the early 1960s .

    Good morning.

Gitta Sereny is the most prolific, and plausibly the final authority on the German question. Having lived in Germany, her opus concerns the ‘real time’ human drama from the entire population’s perspectives of the historical elements involved as opposed to the usual jargon of books on the ‘flags and banners’ curiosity. She has answered all of the remaining questions that needed to be asked; hence, ‘The German Trauma’.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Gitta Sereny for openly sharing her vast knowledge, which I appreciate has come from years of dedicated research and of course fascinating incredible personal experience.
