Zouk Out Off to Singapore for a few days, ostensibly to get a new Thai visa but also to see my friend Fiona, who recently relocated there from Australia. The last time I was in Singapore was when I was 15, with my parents on a two day stopover. I remember it being incredibly hot and humid and very very shiny and clean. And having good comics, which is all I was interested in at the time. I'm looking forward to the deeply cliched but must be done Singapore Slings in Raffles hotel. And we're going to this big dance festival, Zouk Out, which is on an island somewhere. The last gig I've went to was Queens Of The Stone Age back in January in Melbourne, so will be great to hear some bangin' choons again. Although, if Singapore festivals are as ridiculously over-policed as Australian ones, where you can't drink outside the beer tent, so no watching bands clutching your booze, it will be a bit of a heartbreaker. Mind you, am currently nursing appalling hangover and have no recollection about how I got home last night, so maybe festival sans booze is a good idea. [permalink] | [0 comments]
