The Twisted Brain-Wrong Of A One-Off Man Mental
I made something of a faux pas in yesterday's blog, as Steve M pointed out. The Blanchot book I was talking about wasn't "The Space Of Literature" at all - it was "The Writing Of The Disaster". D'oh! Apologies for any confusion. Rather than making a Stalinist revision of the last entry, I thought I'd leave it alone.
Thanks to the current flurry of interest in J G Ballard, I've added a stack of new links to jgballard.com, which includes the various interviews and reviews that have appeared in the national press concerning Super-Cannes. I've actually avoided reading any of them myself as I'm a third of the way through the book and don't want to hit any spoilers.
Super-Cannes is excellent so far - it generates a distinctly uneasy atmosphere in that classic things-beneath-the-surface way that JGB is so good at. And while it's a page-turning thriller, there's a definite agenda between the lines too.
