Joy Of Life

Just got tickets to see Suicide again in a couple of weeks at The Garage. Their gig at the same venue a couple of years ago was absolutely fantastic - I went expecting to be disappointed and came away completely blown away by two fifty somethings with only a synthesiser, a drum machine, a mic and pair of scary wraparound shades between them. More punk rock than anybody else ever. Of course, Suicide are terminally unpopular, although they're always namechecked by any band that matters as an influence. At the last gig Nick Cave, Siouxsie Sioux, Jarvis Cocker (Pulp) and Bobby Gillespie (Primal Scream) were all seen wandering about. All of their albums seem to have been deleted as well except for their essential self-titled debut record. There's not that much about Suicide on the web - Ghost Riders is the most comprehensive site I could find, but really, the records are all you need to know about.
