Collected Bellow

Does one wait for the paperback? Im not keen on monumental hardbacks; if I didnt have books, moving flats would not have been such a recurrent nightmare, and big books make it worse. Saul Bellows stories have been collected in what looks like a big hardback. Martin Amis can be heard talking about his default father’s new book on the BBCs Nightwaves programme. Click on the streaming audio for that. Better still, read James Woods sublime essay that looks like it’s been reprinted as the Collected Stories introduction. Bellow makes the latest Great American Novelist look like the soap writer he is.
