All Our (Digital) Yesterdays Just been playing …

All Our (Digital) Yesterdays

Just been playing around with archive.org’s fantastic collection of instant web nostalgia. They’ve archived millions of webpages from the last five years - simply enter an URL of a site you know and you can see how it’s appeared over the previous five years. May sound quite dry but it’s a fascinating voyage back into webtime to see how far the web’s come - or degenerated, depending on your point of view. And yes, Spike’s in there. I’m still quite fond of that blue, black and yellow colour scheme…

Chris sent me a transcript of an BBC online chat JG Ballard did recently, discussing Empire of the Sun for their Book Club section. Lots of other book stuff worth browsing here too.

My favourite news story of today. I need one. Preferably with razors sewn into the edges.

Posted on February 8th, 2002.
