Get The Message
Radio 4′ s “The Message” kindly featured Spike recently as an example of where you can get your novel published on the Net… even though we stopped accepting fiction contributions about a year ago. Hmm.
Meanwhile, get your own 15 minutes of fame with the Warholiser. If you send yourself in, be sure to let me know. If you fancy something more intelligent, and indeed contrary, than the current retrofest of Warhol’s Greatest Hits that’s currently on at the Tate Modern, Brian Sewell’s article from a couple of weeks ago is a superbly critical meditation on the emptiness of Warhol’s art. Personally I love that emptiness - and I enjoy the fact that it twangs the spleen even more than normal of the vitriolic Sewell - not just because it irritates him, but because it’s made him produce one his best critical columns for months (rather than his usual “oh, it’s modern, it’s shite” schtick).
