Don’t forget the joker

After blathering on about Lambchop a few weeks ago, found that their Nixon album was in the Amazon 3 for 20 CD sale - fabulous. Got that alongside Roots Manuva’s Brand New Second Hand - dub-heavy UK hip hop which has got some quality moments - definitely worth checking out if you like Massive Attack et al, although Mr Manuva is a lot rougher production wise. Also picked up the Pixies’ Doolittle, so Chris Hall can’t sneer at my record collection any more. I’ve never owned this album because it always seemed to be on in the background during my mis-spent youth, to the point of overfamiliarity. Listening to it now is like being sonically punched in the face and sitting back up smiling - it hasn’t dated at all.

It’s actually cobblers that it’s 3 for 20 - all the CDs are 6.66 whether or not you buy them en masse. So I got Motorhead’s Ace Of Spades too. The neighbours love me.
