Corporate Killing I see the Queen Mother of pop…

Corporate Killing

I see the Queen Mother of popular music, Elton John, has been sitting in front of some waxworks in Washington asking for more funds to fight AIDS. Reports are respectful. But check out the links on Arts & Letters Daily about Michael Moore. Uniformly, they attack him for being fat and wealthy. So this is the truth that hates delay is it? A good many of the illuminating articles on Medialens, such as the interview with Harold Pinter, reveal how this is a classic means of thought control in a democratic societies. The policy is “Dont argue, just throw abuse” (and, no doubt, dutiful servants will link to it).

The tragic case of Simon Jones (a student at the University I attended) has yet to receive this treatment. Instead, the mainstream media has more or less ignored it, though late last night Mark Thomas covered it in his programme on Channel 4. The scandal of Casualisation is something Michael Moore has probably covered, but presumably, because hes fat and wealthy, it means the slim and poor Simon Jones doesnt count. Check out, in connection with this, a bizarre piece of disingenuity by Roger Kimball on the delusions and crimes of Socialism. He speaks of the basic bloodthirstiness of Egalitarianism. Odd that. I thought it was an attempt by ordinary people to stop the abuse of their fellows, like Simon Jones. Significantly, Kimball refers to the conglomerate of Marxism, Inc, which suggests what the real evil is.

Finally, have a read of the poem the Queen Mother chose to have read at her funeral. Luckily for her, she was dead and couldnt hear it.
