The Librarie The Librarie, as it calls itself, …

The Librarie

The Librarie, as it calls itself, is an extraordinarily beautiful website, dedicated to highlighting the work of a number of (apparently random) literary figures. Beckett, Mallarme, Nietzsche, and Blanchot are the ones that attracted me, but theres also well take a look yourself. The Mallarme pages are particularly fine. However, despite the elegance of the site, its not perfect for the reader. Theres only a small window to read the translations, the scrolling is slow, and the Blanchot pages take an age to appear as Flash loads. Still, whatever.

On the London Review of Books site, Jenny Turner writes (somewhat awkwardly) I really don’t think anyone who is at all interested in the study of literature has any business not knowing the work of Stewart Home. OK, let me out. If this is literature, then thank god Ive no business with it; Nathan Barley-type literature.
