How to be an artist

The Clerkenwell Literary Festival is due to start in the next few days, with Bill Drummond winning the prize for most eye-catching event - a debate entitled “Is God A Cunt?”. It’s a reasonable question… Lots of other interesting stuff on. London seems to suffer a dearth of literary events, which is surprising for the amount of authors that live here. Mr Drummond’s got a new book out too called How To Be An Artist which I’ll be duly purchasing - The Manual and 45 are two previous classics for anyone who loves pop music.

There was a fairly insipid summary of the ongoing Hunter S. Thompson and Jerry Seinfeld furore in the Guardian a couple of days ago, which I’ve blogged previously here. Not half as entertaining as the Doctor’s own fax to his agent telling him to sort it out - I so wish I could write such fantastically imaginative and well-directed bile. So many people deserve it. Thanks to Tara Junger for letting me know about the fax and the New York Post’s take on it.
