Graphic Violence
Road To Perdition is the new gangster flick from Sam “American Beauty” Mendez, starring Tom Hanks, Paul Newman and Jude Law amongst others, set in Al Capone’s 1930s Chicago. The film is adapted from the graphic novel of the same name, which took author Max Allan Collins and artist Richard Piers Rayner four years of collaboration to produce - yet they’ve never met. However, to celebrate the premiere of the film, Collins and Rayner will be meeting up for the first time in the flesh at London’s specialist crime and mystery bookshop Murder One for a book signing and Q&A from 12.30 to 1.30 on 17th September. Could be fun. The film itself opens in London on the 20th September. You can check out the graphic novel on Amazon. Good to see it’s not just men in tights graduating from graphic novels to the silver screen…
