Going Down
At the beginning of December I’m heading to Australia to live for a few months. This has been prompted by my day job terminating at the end of October and not being able to face another English winter. Having saved up some cash for such an eventuality, the vague plan is to currently spend December in Sydney with various friends and then spend the first couple of months of the new year travelling round the East Coast, before heading back to Sydney, or perhaps Melbourne, to seek some sort of job. I’m told Melbourne is a lot more “cultural”. So, any suggestions of good places to visit from Australian Spike readers would be very welcome - whether it’s a decent bar, a well-stocked bookshop or a particularly good spot to go scuba diving. Any good New Year’s Eve hangouts in Sydney would be good to know too. Either post a comment or email me - thanks!
