I try to limit “political” blogs at least those to do with these tense times because it seems futile, not to say also uninteresting. Still, I want to understand something, and writing about it seems to be the only way of coping. Why is it that no matter how plain the deceit used, our leaders are going ahead with their terror-able policies without serious opposition? And why are those with power to make this a public issue for common debate spending their time playing war games with maps and fighter jet footage? Is this what it means to be a media professional to know what can and cannot be said? One watches the news in astonishment; not for the content but the lack of it, and the subtle use of euphemism to paper over the cracks. While they have the tact not to use the phrase “collateral damage”, they don’t replace it with plain words; they just don’t mention it. It is like sitting in a lecture hall with a rhinoceros snorting in your face yet ignored by the zoologists and by all those being lectured. And it gets worse, because they’re discussing the possibility of a harpsichord-playing Blue Whale landing on the roof and killing everyone inside.
So, as you wait to be crushed by Bach-loving blubber, check out the details of the investigations of former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark on the conduct of the senior Elephant and his herd in 1991. If there is a God, then he is a smug cunt.
