Continuum

Written by:Stephen Mitchelmore.

Usually, I chuck away those pamphlets that drop out of magazines, but Continuum Books‘ mailshot is really good. All six of the books they feature by Antonio Negri, Luce Irigaray, Paul Virilo, Alain Badiou and Gilles Deleuze attracted my attention. They look to be beautifully designed and produced. The sixth book Life.After.Theory (sic), a collection of interviews with Derrida, Sir Frank Kermode, Toril Moi and Christopher Norris says it covers “Among other things being an outsider, taking responsibility, valuing books, getting angry, doing science, listening to music, remembering Empson, rereading de Beauvoir, being Jewish, asking forgiveness, smoking in libraries, befriending the dead, committing bigamy, forgetting to forget, thinking, not thinking, believing, and being mad.”

Among other things? I wonder if “Why bother?” is among them?
