Campbell’s Pea Souper
New Labour ? or rather the unelected, thuggish Alastair Campbell - is continuing its rather desperate attack on the BBC News' suggestion that the government put excessive spin on intelligence reports to justify the invasion of Iraq. Richard Sambrook, the head of BBC News, has provided a strong reply to the accusations. Yet I've just seen the fisheries minister Ben Bradshaw calling the reply "a disgrace". Clearly, this pompous, repellent little commissar, who was party to mass murder after an illegal invasion, that had little or no support in the country, is putting up a front; he doth protest too much. Soon, New Labour's deceit-ridden presentations will be good only as fish food. If you hate your pet fish, of course.
Medialens' offers a more accurate account of the BBC's role in the war. This spat is a charade.
