Phobia, schmobia

Written by:Stephen Mitchelmore.

The BBC reports that “a drug used to treat tuberculosis may also help people to overcome a fear of spiders or other phobias.” Not if you have pharmacophobia!

The Phobia List provides hours of office fun. Apart from the meaning of pharmacophobia, you can find out that geniophobia is a fear of chins; epistemophobia is a fear of knowledge (if you winced when you read that, you might have it); diplophobia is a fear of double vision double vision; barophobia is the fear of gravity (what?) and climacophobia is a fear of stairs. But don’t worry, there are eight simple steps to overcoming this.

I shouldn’t make fun. For sure, I couldn’t stand it if I had thaasophobia.
