Fallen Angel
Anybody else watching Fallen Angel, BBC4's doc on the life and music of Gram Parsons? I am, and it's 41 mins in and we're yet to hear more than two seconds of his singing! It's staggering. Once each clip begins, one of the innumerable commentators bursts in with "Gram was such a great singer" or whatever. "Hickory Wind was one of his greatest songs" somebody says, and you'd expect at least a few seconds of the song. But no. Not a moment. And though every native in the show pronounces "Los Angeles" as "Los Angel-is" the BBC's narrator, the stiff know-nothing Tracey Macleod, insists on "Los Angeleeeez".
I'm so fed up I might even switch over to Newsnight Review.
