The Four Horseman of the Establishment

Written by:Stephen Mitchelmore.

This looks like a fascinating read: The Betrayal of Dissent: subtitled Beyond Orwell, Hitchens and the New American Century.

The blurb says “Scott Lucas’s lively and readable critique of public intellectuals including Christopher Hitchens, Michael Walzer, David Aaronovitch, and Johann Hari who have all invoked Orwellian honesty and decency to shut down dissent - will appeal to anyone disillusioned with the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.” Ah, those oh-so-familiar names!

But I am troubled. When one reads an article like The Chorus and Cassandra from 1985, the question of the Late Christopher Hitchens becomes very interesting. I hope it’s not as clearcut so many believe.
