Your mother is a small cunt

I was recently told of a fluent-Chinese-speaking friend being insulted whilst travelling in China - on refusing to pay a ridiculously jacked up taxi fare, the driver started shrieking “Your mother is a small cunt!”. Not has, but is. Why? Someone please explain.

And on a related random note, I just found this in the Xenophobe’s Guide to Aussies: “One shocked English visitor to Australia more than a hundred years ago recorded: “Your thoroughbred gumsucker never speaks with apostrophising his oath and interlarding his diction with the crimsonest of adjectives”.

I feel a book coming on. Swearing around the world. Has someone already done it?
