Gallo’s humour

Written by:Stephen Mitchelmore.

There are so few really good British literary blogs: why is that? In my Favourites, there’s only Ready Steady Book, the LN Review and Buzzwords Deux (the old Joe Bloggs). I don’t count Spurious as literary as such; it is a genre all to itself! And In Writing is a mid-Atlantic kind of thing. Iceland perhaps.

Today, Buzzwords links to stories about artists of various kinds who vote Republican, and picks out the name of Vincent Gallo. It’s always sad, isn’t it, when one finds out that an artist one admires, whose work one follows with interest, and whose every move is of fascination, turns out to have despicable political opinions?

Good thing then that I think Gallo’s work is a useless pile of shit.
