Nurse, the Kermode

Reliable film critic Mark Kermode criticises Michael Moore for manipulation and grandstanding in F9/11. His own piece seems to be manipulative in the same way, and that’s fine, because it’s an opinion piece not journalism. And neither is Moore’s, so why does he judge it under journalists’ ideals?

Kermode laments Moore’s manner because he writes as “someone who was utterly opposed to the Iraq war and who believes wholeheartedly that Bush should not just be toppled but tried”. Now that’s what Moore should be arguing for. Does he?
