DM Thomas
How very strange. Only this week, crossing a paved area between two sets of traffic lights, I remembered having read several novels by DM Thomas - The White Hotel, Ararat, Birthstone, Sphinx - all in the space of a few months. This was over fifteen years ago. I had heard nothing of him since. And then this in today’s Guardian! It reminds me of his novels: very entertaining but ultimately inconsequential. I suspect the unmade movie of which he writes would be too.
