Begorrah! Books on TV
Tonight at 2030, the digital only channel BBC Four starts a 13-part series about books called (wait for it) The Book Show. The opener features Frank Delaney talking about his (wait for it) "ambitious" new novel Ireland: A Novel. He's the man who recently failed to include anything by Beckett in a list of Ireland's top ten greatest novels. Prick. I've just finished John Banville's superb novel Shroud. I'd much rather listen to him.
Also, "China Mieville talks art and politics and we explore whether or not you can indeed judge a book by its cover". Expect the expected.
