said the gramophone …

Written by:Stephen Mitchelmore.

… is a weblog about music and has mp3 files to accompany the words. John Fahey’s When the Springtime Comes Again is just about perfect. And then there’s the Aria de Capo from Glenn Gould’s second recording of the Goldberg Variations, which is the first time I’ve heard it. So different from the first, but still his humming in the background! Also in that last link, a sixth of Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy’s setting of reworkings of Rabindranath Tagore’s Gitanjali poems (here with an intro by WB Yeats). And if that wasn’t enough, between them comes Van Morrison’s Astral Weeks. Mysticalshitastic!
