Unfoundlands
Dust from a Distant Sun links to a page about a book I've not heard of: Lost Classics, a book of essays by literary names about hard-to-find books. One of them, I'm half-pleased to see, is Thomas Bernhard's first novel Frost, still to be published in translation. Oddly, the list includes two with 'Newfoundland' in the title. And odder still, Bernhard's final novel is called Newfoundland. But there's a problem with it, the MS contains only the first and last sentences. The only true paradise is the one truly lost.
