Nobel ideal

Written by:Stephen Mitchelmore.

The Literary Saloon awakens the annual Nobel Prize build up. Setting aside the bleedin’ obvious, I would prefer it to go to either Peter Handke, Aharon Appelfeld or Jacques Roubaud. Remember (and I say this every year), Alfred Nobel specified that the prize go to a writer for “the most outstanding work in an ideal direction”. I’m not sure if anyone knows what that means anymore.
