Peel tribute show

Written by:Stephen Mitchelmore.

Last night, Peel’s great friend Andy Kershaw broadcast 100 minutes of perfect radio in memory of the departed DJ. You can listen to it in the archives for a week, but the BBC should really make it permanently available. Just look at that playlist from Heaven: from Elmore James to the Bhundu Boys, Neil Young to Ivor Cutler, Diblo Dibala to Half Man Half Biscuit. The final song in the show is the one Peel wanted played after his death. Almost too much to bear.
