Spine Mingling

I try not to blog stuff mentioned elsewhere, but couldn’t resist this from Metafilter:

There is nothing wrong in this whole wide world. Artist Chris Cobb convinced Adobe Bookshop in San Francisco to allow him to reclassify 20,000 books based solely on their color. The result is like something out of a dream. Here are some pictures, and here’s an interview with him.

I remember spending a very happy couple of hours in Adobe when I visited San Francisco in 1997. It’s where I bought my RE:Search edition of The Atrocity Exhibition. Sigh. Isn’t it about time someone invited me over there to a conference or something?
