On Tuesday the 14th, MobyLives (which doesn't have permanent links) reported the tragic death of an heroic figure: Gary Webb, the author of Dark Alliance, subtitled The CIA, the Contras, and the Crack Cocaine Explosion. Webb's career path, as summarised at MobyLives, scratched the veneer of free speech and democracy.
