No Such Thing As A Free Ride? Hitchhiking Tales
I seem to have become a published author by accident. Recently I received an email telling me I'd had a short story published in "No Such Thing As A Free Ride?", a forthcoming Cassell collection about hitchhiking. I had no recollection of sending a story to the editors. On opening the final proofed document of my contribution, I discovered they used my original 50 word proposal as my contribution.
Clearly they were desperate to fill a page.
Still, on reflection, I think it works better like this.
The official website is at hitchtales.com and the book is available at Amazon.co.uk, natch. There will be excerpts in the Times this weekend, apparently.
