Socialist Bookmarks

Written by:Stephen Mitchelmore.

Lenin directs us to Bookmarks, “Britain’s leading socialist bookshop”, a description which prompts the question: how many are there? Are all the rest in Sedgefield? The main book on display is Stop The War: The Story Of Britain’s Biggest Mass Movement.

It’s a story one might have missed if you rely for your news coverage on the BBC. Elsewhere, John Pilger reveals that the BBC made a confidential apology to the Israeli government, then reminds us of the truth about the Pope - the precise opposite, of course, of the official story - and reports on the fate of a long interview he did with the BBC.
