Vote for Reg Keys

Written by:Stephen Mitchelmore.

I remember last October, a colleague coming into work saying that someone was threatening to hang themselves from a lamp-post opposite the Labour Party conference in Brighton. That man was Reg Keys. He tied a noose around his neck as he clung to the post. But he wasnt going to kill himself. He wanted to draw attention to his anguish at the death of his son Tom, a British soldier killed by a bomb in Iraq, and anger at Tony Blair who was making a speech inside the Brighton Centre.

Now Keys is standing as a candidate in Blairs constituency of Sedgefield. Popular scientist Richard Dawkins writes in support. With a majority of nearly 18,000, it seems unlikely the liar will be unseated. But like S***hampton getting relegated, its a tantalising prospect.
