Non Fiction Title I Want
Some non-fiction books I’ve stumbled over recently that I’d like to read;
Generation Kill - “The shocking and visceral story of First Recon - the first unit of marines behind enemy lines in Iraq”.
The Dragon Syndicates - “A sensational look at the history of, and the global threat posed by, the Chinese organised crime syndicates: the Triads”.
The Last Mission - the Amazon page doesn’t have a summary, but this is about the near-coup that occurred in Japan hours before Emperor Hirohito was due to broadcast his surrender message and would have resulted in a huge kamikaze attack against the encroaching US forces.
And while I was looking for that, I found this:
Germany’s Last Mission to Japan: The Sinister Voyage of U-234 - “In March 1945 the German submarine U-234 sailed for Japan with a top-secret cargo of advanced weapons and electronics in the Nazis’ last attempt to share technology with their ally. Also aboard were a select group of officials and experts whose knowledge was, if anything, even more valuable. However the war ended while the submarine was still en route, and she surrendered to the Americans.”
I love all this secret history stuff. Maybe I should read The Da Vinci Code after all. (There’s some priceless comments on this one on the Amazon site, incidentally).
