Cathal Coughlan is fantastic

by Stephen Mitchelmore on June 2, 2005

Today Chris mentioned Dogmatika, “an international magazine of cultural criticism”. It has an interview with an old hero of mine, the singer/songwriter Cathal Coughlan (of the band 80s band Microdisney of whom, the interview tells us, Billy Connolly called “an MOR-band who make sardonic humorous records about torture, corruption and human misery.” Which is completely right.

There’s also a link to his website, which has the 15 songs from a recent LP available for download (go for “Unbroken Ones”). But Coughlan offers some advice: “please remember that downloading MP3 files damages the music industry – so do it early, often and cheerfully”.
