Repeating the name: Peter Handke

by Stephen Mitchelmore on June 16, 2005

Alberto Manguel’s revelations and opinion stirs (what has been called) my unresolved anger. Not at Manguel but the fact that he reminds us that Peter Handke is under-translated. Spurious has been reading his masterpiece lately, and so has Caterina. The latter reveals also that Wallace Stevens’ poetry means a lot to her, which figures. Both evoke a superior reality. Surely not, though, the extra-terrestrial reality this page on Amazon UK suggests!
