Eddie Campbell turns 50
Happy birthday to comics artist Eddie Campbell!
Best known as the illustrator of Alan Moore�s From Hell, Campbell�s greatest solo work can be found in the autobiographical Alec stories. Once Top Shelf releases his new book The Fate of the Artist in the fall, I hope to make a convincing case for the honest-to-god brilliance of his work.
Actually, I�ve already written about Campbell�s art in the From Hell piece mentioned on my recently updated website. The article will appear in The Modern Word in a couple of months.
