Splinters

This evening I am mostly watching the Arena at 30 night on BBC4. Arena was an extraordinary arts documentary series. So far, it has reminded me of some programmes I saw in the 80s featuring, among others: William Burroughs, Andy Warhol, Orson Welles, Jean Genet, Graham Greene, Robert Crumb and, Chris' mate, Quentin Crisp. The BBC is so proud of Arena that it no longer bothers commissioning such documentaries.
