Splinters

Some great paintings on David Shillinglaw's site, an artist with an exhibition currently going on in Islington, London. Some of it is a bit Basquiat, some of it a bit Haring - most of it is just one glorious technicolour mess, a riot of paint and found bits stuck onto the canvas. His site is also refreshingly free of vacuous musings about what "ideas" or "notions" his work "interrogates" - Shillinglaw simply says "The images and texts come together as a poem to be read differently each time they are viewed, not necessarily understood but enjoyed".

They sure are purdy.
