Christ, a new bookshop!
Old Brightonians will remember NF Brookes, the famous secondhand bookshop that closed down a few years ago. It was replaced by a trendy furniture store. Well, that has now been replaced in turn by another bookshop. But not any old bookshop: Wesley Owen, a Christian bookshop. The selection is distinctly populist. The Left Behind series - which always makes me think of a coalition of gay socialists - was lined up for inspection. Less offensively, there were books with titles like: Jesus Speaks to Teens. Presumably He does this before the restraining order comes into force.

I remember looking in a Wesley Owens once and seeing a big display for the moving autobiography of Bobby “Rock on Tommy” Ball.
We’re through the looking glass here people.
