His support always seemed more nuanced than the likes of Aaronovitch, Hitchens at el. Heaven hath more joy at the sinner that repenteth etc.<br/><br/>He's still a bit "centrist" for my tastes and too ready to give Blair the benefit of the doubt, but I find him a very engaging, entertaining and likeable writer. <br/><br/>He does very good in depth reports on stuff that often falls off the radar like the scandal of low paid piece-rate workers, abuse of aslyum seekers, and the madness of the climate change deniers in the US.<br/><br/>His cultural spots are always of interest too, even if I don't always agree with them.
