Library lists
We’re all a bit sniffy about Books of the Year lists nowadays because those in the mainstream press are so predictable. Only occasionally do I add a book to my list of names to look out for in the library. Ready Steady Book has produced an excellent alternative list that has already got me noting down names, although some I’ve already read … such as those I’ve recommended. I’ve also contributed to a list of underrated writers at Syntax of Things. But anyone who frequents this blog will probably know who I’ve chosen anyway (though they cut out my mention of Blanchot).
