PostSecret: How I Love Thee
The PostSecret project has lost none of its lustre for me in the several months I've been reading the weekly posts of new secrets on their website. (I first mentioned it on Splinters in April 2005). This week it's thrown up two of my favourite secrets ever: the Head Librarian and There Are No Beautiful Suicides (both probably NSFW).
I would love to get the PostSecret book - has anyone read it? Does it have any extra text or backstory besides the photos themselves? I wonder if seeing it as a book is somehow less than its website because it's sealed and delivered, not continually being added to.
Most of all, I love the brevity of these postcards - in a single sentence, people identify the fulcrum of their lives. Or make a bad joke. Or both. They do more for me than most novels.
