Self Publishing: Lulu vs Publish And Be Damned

by Chris Mitchell on February 16, 2006

The Guardian has a go at self-publishing and runs a book through Lulu.com and PABD.net (Publish And Be Damned). End result? Lulu is more responsive but harder work; PABD appear to run off with your money and become wholly unresponsive only to reappear with a decent looking proof of your book. Both services seem to roughly the same price wise – around £160.

Yes they seem to be a very innovative company HOWEVER, I have made many attempts to get customer service to help me with an order that was delivered incomplete. I have contacted the Live help and they keep telling me to wait one more day. It has been two weeks and I have 200 incomplete books that no one will want to buy.

Email and Live chat seem to be the only way to contact them.

Does anyone have a phone number for them? We have almost a $1000 in this project and a speaking tour coming.

HOW DOES ONE GET THEM TO RESPOND!!!
