Peter Nicholson let me know about an excellent science and arts online magazine from Australia New York [only Peter is from Australia] - 3 Quarks Daily. It's been endorsed by the likes of Steven Pinker, Daniel Dennett and Richard Dawkins, and it has a heady mix of articles, along with an excellent blog that summarises and links to numerous interesting topics. It's not hardcore propellerhead science, or even particularly scientific - 3QD seems more interested in the philosophy of science and the impact of science on the way we think. Their arts coverage is not a poor cousin to the science coverage either. Peter writes a regular column there and has recently talked about composer Benjamin Britten and film-maker Federico Fellini, amongst others. Highly recommended.
