Splinters

An interesting article about Stella Gibbons by Lynne Truss in today's Guardian. Cold Comfort Farm is indeed a masterpiece. I had no idea Gibbons' had written 20 other books, all out of print (her nephew and biographer has a site which lists them all here.) But then its the sad destiny of some artists to be trapped by the greatness of one master-work and ignored thereafter. Just ask Martha and the Muffins.
