A life in six words

by Ben Granger on February 6, 2008

Here’s a nice little idea, (in the best sense of that patronising phrase) “Sum Up Your Life In Six Words”. That’s the task that Smith Magazine set for readers, and they have since compiled Not Quite What I Was Expecting, a book of the best entries. It seems to work quite well. I liked “Had a go at everything: failed.”

It would seem Ernest Hemingway came up with the idea first:- “For sale: baby shoes -never worn.”
