Would you like to contribute to Spike Magazine? We are currently looking for five writers, one for each of the following areas: Art, Books, Film, Ideas, and Music.
We would expect a six-month commitment with three submissions per month: an interview, feature, review, and/or blog post, planned with the editor, according to schedule, two-three months in advance. Although Spike Magazine does not currently pay, we will support your work in any way we can and provide a well-known platform for your writing. You will receive review material and interview access to fascinating people. Eventually, we would hope to expand your role into an editorial one. Spike is one of the longest running culture sites. As such, we think this is an excellent opportunity.
If you wish to be considered, please email Jason Weaver via the form on the contact page. Tell us which of the five areas you would like to cover and why. Summarize your main interests in your chosen field and list a few ideas for articles you’d like to write. Also, tell us a little bit about yourself and any relevant experience you have, including links where possible. Feel free to contact us with any questions. Please spread the word and encourage shy friends to put themselves forward. We will take all submissions seriously.
The deadline for applications is Friday 11th February, 2011. We look forward to building long and fruitful friendships.
